Things that perfect romances are made of
The touch of a hand, a glimpse into the eyes
Embellishments of the finest quality

Yet they deteriorate in the absence of love
Sole desire for another that shines eternal
The admiration, adoration of a soul’s mere existence
The foundation required for a weatherproof haven

Thus I’m forced to break this contract
One fortunately signed in erasable ink
One-sided endearment is less than you deserve
Indeed my heart’s exertion failed to produce
The necessary affection

So I bid you the warmest farewell I can conjure
Sorrowful that it’s your own heart I’ve injured
Still you assure me of your strength
And relief that we’ve prevented
A most destructive collapse
Of a shaky house built on quicksand [comments] => 3 [counter] => 79 [topic] => 22 [informant] => Deidra_Carmichael [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

The essence of elegance. Very well crafted, and nice job not striving for a rhyme scheme.

The kindest of farewells, written as a gentle conversation first with oneself and then gently set upon the doorstep of the one you wish not to injure with words whose sharp edges bear the truth that must be spoken.
The beauty of your write is the criteria to which you elevate a loving relationship. It bestows upon the reader a standard to aspire as we are afforded the opportunity to eavesdrop on your elequent goodbye.
