I stumble
with common sense
I light up another one
while I still cough

captivated by social media
todays Barr hearings are rough
need to go to the bathroom
but
to stop watching the television is to tough.

the words collusion and obstruction
are just so exhausting
theres no satisfaction
when haters converge and the truth is smothered

my mind is broken
and my black board lacks chalk
I am living in a wiggly world
not knowing there is another

compromising is necessary
to be honest
I must admit that
uncontrollable urge to communicate
but when I speak
no intelligent words come forth

no progress is made
no progress is gained
when you can not believe
what you hear or see
you must consider the source

The lost of equilibrium
makes me spill the wine
the talking heads are in the back yard
watching as my train falls off the track

The elevators broke
so now I must walk up
must remember
not to touch the walls
where vermin seeps out of the walls cracks

Intoxicated by having the right
to do what I want
even when I do not know what I want
another day in the life rambles on
as the sadness of reality taunts

I/'/m with you on the politics too.
Couldn/'/t agree more.
Enough is enough....
Well said and very pertinent as well.
Bravo.

Your final stanza speaks to your resignation with a world you cannot abide or influence. THE RIGHT TO DO WHAT I WANT EVEN WHEN I DO NOT KNOW WHAT I WANT.. resonates with me intensely.
The tinyness of our life comes sorrowful to know.
Most of us will never lead, and the remainder can only protest by refusing to follow.
Were life/'/s intentions not so utterly comical, they would be tragic. Here/'/s to the bitter laughter that closes your assessment of man/'/s condition.
Hats off and a deep bow to your misfortunate accuracy.
