[bodytext] => Most of us were TV kids who liked to sing along. So Wall Street built their advertising into rhymes and songs. Heres a few I think we knew that linger in our brains. Just when youve forgotten them, lets bring them up again! Would you believe that coffee made us happy to get up? "The Best Part of waking up is Folgers in your cup." This soda pop commercial was so popular it grew. "Id Like to Buy the World a Coke" became a hit song too. "Have it Your Way" wasnt offered on McDonalds menu. Burger King invented it, now others do it too. "My Bologna has a First Name" sang a boy who came to be thanks to Oscar Mayer, in New Yorks ad industry! 85% of us need no answer here: "Just like a good Neighbor_____________________is there. We sang in 1993 "The Dogs Kids Loved to Bite." Armour Hot Dogs found a way to sell their dogs all right. "Plop plop, fizz fizz. Oh, what a relief it is." Alka Seltzers "Speedy" described its bubbly fizz. Do you recall the question: "Wheres the Beef?" she asked. It had Wendys competitors resizing burgers fast! "Dont leave home without it". Karl Malden said it best. The most successful long-run ad for American Express. They claimed that "We try Harder", to say they did it best. Avis used its second place to put Hertz to the test. "When you care enough to send the very best." Was Hallmarks favorite slogan and probably still is. "Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you dont." Mounds and Almond Joy had you covered on both fronts! They showed her in a bubblebath and said "Take me Away!" Calgon promised quick relief from our hectic day. "Let Your Fingers do the Walking" today is obsolete. The Yellow Pages have succumbed to internet defeat. "Reach out and Touch Someone" before cell phones would be the phone company slogan used for AT&T "Its Everywhere you Want to Be" when credit cards were new, promised that more stores took Visa than other cards we used. With a Swedish accent "Take it all OFF" the girl enticed. This blond made us all fond of Gillettes shaving advice! "The Quicker Picker Upper." would clean up faster than, the leading competition, so said Bountys plan. "Because so much is riding on your tires." Commercially, Michelin appealed to safety quite successfully. It would "Take a licking and keep on ticking", right? John Cameron Swayzees Timex tests were a camp delight! If it "Melts in Your Mouth and Not in Your Hands" that put them ahead. Candy coated M&Ms did exactly as they said. Old time salt would clog and clump whenever it got damp. Their promise "When it rains it pours" made Morton Salt the champ. "A little dabll do ya!" sold this popular hair cream. Brylcreem gave your hair a shiny patent leather sheen! Remember all the movie stars with mustaches of white? The California Milk Board asked "Got MILK?" We did, all right! Milwaukees proud of this fine brew, do you know which it is? "The Beer that made Milwaukee Famous". Right you are! its Schlitz. Kentucky passed a new law. To use their name you pay a fee. Thats why Kentucky Fried Chicken is now called KFC. Gotta go, unlike you know the Energizer Bunny would. Im out of rhyme, its Miller time, (hope this was Mmm Mmm good)! Thank you for your patience! Its a long poem as you know. Luckily for poetry..
