I’ve let so many people down,
Lost so many beautiful opportunities,
I feel so failed and forlorn,
But is that really such a tragedy?

Perhaps, rather,
It’s a positive thing,
Shouldn’t a true artist be suffering?
At least I’m feeling something…

It’s happening again,
Such unbearable pain,
And if my soul is crying
As my heart is breaking, then that’s fine…

I’ve let so many people down,
Lost so many beautiful opportunities,
I feel so failed and forlorn,
But is that really such a tragedy?

Perhaps, rather,

to feel life is to be suffering
and how rare a feeling
it might seem

if the pain is enveloping
my soul, how it must
be art, if I choose
to make it
through another
day,
it must be
true to thee

in everything
I am.
The blues are not white
The grays are not
shades

I can sleep or
I can with hope
survive another day

it is a tumble weed
tumbling through the wind
rolling and rolling all
over itself
again and again

and all there is
is art

and all there
is
is to find some
balance
with which
to hold onto
and never
let go of

It/'/s been my experience that our periods of deep sadness shape who we are. They become part of us. Sometimes our best work comes from sadness.

They do say we produce our most epic and poignant work when we are at our depths.
I think that/'/s true, emotions flow quicker from pain.
The sadness cuts right through here.
