It wasn’t so long ago
We met on the pier
I stole a kiss
I held you ever so dear
You gave me a key to your heart
You said we should never part
Can you recall
It wasn’t so long ago
We made out in my big black Lincoln
Even with the blinkers blinking
It was in front of your old beau’s house
I wonder if he ever knew
It was me and you
Can you recall
It wasn’t so long ago
On the day of hearts
We waited in my car in front of the restaurant’s door
You blew me a kiss
It all suddenly went amiss
A man walked out to make a call
Gazed our way and dropped his cell
Now he has a story to tell
Do you recall
It wasn’t so long ago
You gave me a key to your heart
You said we should never part
One day you upped and moved away
I had to stay, and I couldn’t follow
My heart turned to stone and forever is hollow
My memories may be old
But to me, they are still gold
If you recall
It wasn’t so long ago

So much depth in this seemingly very personal write. Well done.

wow, somethings stick in your heart,
no matter the outcome.

It maybe did not go the way
anyone thought, but this etching,
in your heart stuck -
hers too likely.
there is no time,
time left, time won/t repeat
there is only the etching
that has stuck / that ain/t
gonna anytime leave.

Dear James - great writing
time heals, time, the best time
is only real.

I loved this write of yours.
Stay solid and honest
my good man!
Peace!

// // Sounds like a good song.

I probably should say the rest in a PM but I bet we have had the conversation before. 🙂
