does one remember
when ones opinion
became ones belief
Carved in Stone
to be
Defended
No Matter the Cost
Dreading the day
when one might
become weak
a sneak attack
From those thoughts
that begin to use
the weapons
of mass destruction
a little
common sense
logical reasoning
that will darken your skys
That will
kick your arse
up to quantum logical reasoning
where one is forced to Consider
what are
the Probabilities
the
Possibilities
one might be
Wrong
on the things
that one believe/'/s
that one speaks
that one defends
dreading the day
in ones
quiet time
to suffer the pain
to change
Ones Mind

Admirable write here. Funny how convictions are more rigid than the bones that hold them.
I think the surest way to change another/'/s mind is familiarity- because psychologically speaking, opposing ideas and forces are either competition- or worse, predators. This take, coming from someone like myself who has often times found myself feeling much weaker than I am in more ways than one.
Regardless of all of that, I like how you use the arse-kicking and mind-changing so close to one another, because when you aren/'/t used to it, it/'/s going to hurt. That much is sure. I/'/ve been trying to get myself to warm up to the idea of both senses lol
All the best,
-Mark |
