vicious cycles

month after month after month goes by
other caterpillars get to fly
I can’t speak ‘cause the words in my head
they would say are better left unsaid
so I shut my mouth and smile and nod
yeah I’ll just keep wearing this façade

unfinished art
missing pieces, bleeding heart
a gaping wound
hollow as a shell exhumed

tell me, how can I feel at home here
where hope is always smothered by fear?
at every single turn of the page
by this body I am so betrayed
and what I have taken for granted
becomes less clear than strange tongues chanted

so what am I?
how can I identify
just what makes me
a woman now, honestly? [comments] => 5 [counter] => 101 [topic] => 65 [informant] => MoonlitAngel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => toughstuff )

It always amazes me how someone like yourself can write about the difficulties of their lives and within themselves, but do it with such creativity and art. I hope you see and find the pearl within the shell for it is surely there and it shines.

This is beautiful, and for me, speaks directly to the struggle of trying to find purpose in the unknown. There’s something more, but what is it we are trying to accomplish? It’s great.

In these moments you must seek shelter with in yourselves. Not to hide but to rebuild what you were taught to believe. Sometimes you have to stand and move against the grain. You must be selfish and do what you were taught or feel is wrong. Happiness doesn/'/t come to those who stand and wait for it. you must seek it and if something stands in your way it was not meant to be. You must over come it. You can both feel so strong about something and be wrong. One is lying to yourself it is up to you to decide which.

Many feel as you do
the whys in life dominate
when one looks deep within
there just are not many answers
we are comfortable with,
great flow
good stuff...
