To be left feeling hopeless
Every dream you stand on
Ripped out from beneath your feet
Every promise returned empty
Lost, covering scars
But you know they’re still seen
Because the blood flows clear
Running rivers from your eyes
Wondering how forever ends with goodbye
I know what it’s like to be so lost
That every directions feels like another dead end
How memories play loops in your head
And ghost are all that’s left in your bed
Waking up so helpless
Like your heart beats, but feels so lifeless
Facing tomorrow begging for your yesterday
Looking for anything to dull the pain
But it always remains the same

I know how it feels to find hope again
After the days drag the memories further away
When there’s a little more laughter
And little less ache
You’ll find yourself right where you want to be
The scars will fade, and you’ll remain
Clarity, so much left in front of you
Every tear dried, love found in your own eyes
And that’s where truth lies
Not in the empty promise or the goodbye
Making friends with the ghost
Only to find it’s you that’s missed most [comments] => 4 [counter] => 139 [topic] => 48 [informant] => welleyedo [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

this really touched me. I adore how it starts off so dismal but then has a happy ending. I particularly love these lines - "Wondering how forever ends with goodbye" and "love found in your own eyes"

just beautifully written!

Great piece of writing. I thoroughly enjoyed the style you used. Speaking directly to the reader with a conversational intimacy that feels like an old friend. Many choice lines to savour ...

//Every dream you stand on
Ripped out from beneath your feet/
/ ...

//I know how it feels to find hope again
After the days drag the memories further away
When there’s a little more laughter
And little less ache/
/.

Quality writing, and I don’t say that lightly.
