the locals know not to be out tonight
prayers echo in a empty church
shadows move in pairs
and
ghostly spirits fade away with a sigh

lost souls gather in central valley
as bodies in the cemetery come alive
I am lying in silk
someone take the lid off this box
so I can breathe
and see with hollow eyes
the priestess at the enchanted camp is chanting
anticipating
that the one who seeks revenge
will be coming soon
demented disciples dance in circles
severed heads are laughing
as the minions of evil drool

They found a broken body on the train tracks
torn and tattered with no eyes
right away they pointed fingers
at that sugar loaf stranger
venom looking guy

the posse had every one believing
as they assembled with torches at night
they grabbed me as I was sleeping
the mob rules
and they want a life

As I was in chains and they put me
in that hole in the ground
I screamed out for help
no one ever heard a sound
It was a highland mills hanging
but they had the wrong man
and I was still alive
my fingers they bleed
as I tear at the lid
covered with dirt
slowly
I
died...

A church bell can be heard in the distance
as the morbid tale of that story
was being read from the book of the desolated kind
Invocation gives strength to a unseen force
eyes glow in the black forest
In the dark of this demon night

zodiac mind-warp is flowing
as whispering voices crescendo
a reckoning is now due
my silhouette can be seen in the distance
as I travel by the light of the moon. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 80 [topic] => 13 [informant] => unknown_utopia [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Crazy good stuff here. The intro was fantastic.
So was the rest. One of your best writes. Stunningly graphic!

Killer poem here! Great imagery. The title hooked me for the read.

The very first poem I posted here (out of 431) is very similar, but has more of /'/Poe/'/ feel to it. I think you would like it. If you visit my page, go other poetry and go to the last page. (15, I think). It/'/s called "The Revenge of The Lord o9f Olney Moor".

This was my first read of your efforts. I will be looking at others from you. Keep it up! You have a talent; explore and feed it.

An eerie graphic delight! Splendid from title to end!
Wonderful visions concocted to thrill and warn us of your coming!..but it is too late; we are hooked!

Well written, planned and executed (pardon pun)..
by a gifted poet, who we do hope will share more of this spooky splendor, and soon!
The sign of a talented writer is that the audience is left wanting...
