Master of the never land
Call the keeper of the sand
Bid him please to grant me sleep
Stem the tide of tears I weep
Spread his sacred grains of peace
Help my soul to find release
From the agony and sighs
Sand Man, touch and close my eyes

Help me now oh mystic one
Take away the troubling sun
That does burn through out the night
I find no solace in its light
I am in a desperate need
Hear me now as I do plead
Cast your spell of restful bliss
Sand Man, grant me slumbers kiss

For the darkness I do yearn, the calming sight of midnights face
All my struggles to forget, the pain and torment to erase
Shadows call to me in anger, voices of the past do rave
Show me now your tender mercy, help, my weary soul, to save...

Master of the realm of dreams
Listen to my silent screams
Let me feel your tender hand
Cause my demons to disband
Break the hold of guilt and shame
I call upon your ageless name
I beg the end of sleepless plight
Please Sand Man, let me rest tonight

Now I lay me down to sleep...
Reminds me of the famous Childs prayer, but you have written the adult version!

Careful, you may be authoring a cult classic here!
MASTER OF THE REALM OF DREAMS, LISTEN TO MY SILENT SCREAMS...
A reminder that we do take our worries to bed with us, and they are unpleasant companions.
Who could resist such a eloquent plea as yours?
And who could have written one more befitting the sleepless night, than a victim.
Thank you for sharing. I have a greater respect for insomnia. And more empathy for sufferers.

Why is it our demons never seem to sleep at night....grumbles, Me thinks they take turns poking at us.
Nice rhythm to this, thanks for sharing.....and good luck tonight.

Perfectly phrased. Every poem I read you convinces me ever more you are a star here. But, much as I love this site, it is small. Your talent is large. Keep sharing with us, but take this somewhere. People need to read your words. Like velvet.
