We’re a nation wasting time:
For our paychecks; at our banks;
In the ER, no one ranks!

Wait for coffee, wait to dine;
Stand here in the stand-here line;
Take a ticket! Round the lot;
Circling for a parking spot.

Line forms here to pay for gas;
Convenience store - who calls its that?
Need some money? Count to ten;
Park it at the ATM!

“Waiting rooms” anticipate
We/'/ll wait because the doctor’s late.
And clerks have disappeared from stores
Unless, of course, you wait some more!

Corporate malls are wondering why,
Their business has begun to die;
They blame it on the internet!
That’s partly true I’m sure, and yet...

The CDC has set us straight;
They say we’re grossly over-wait!
Assured our brains have turned to brine;
From breathing fumes in drive thru lines.

Why drive and park and carry sacks;
With swollen feet and aching backs?
Then hunt for hours and to our shock;
Find they just ran out of stock!

So thank you but I’ll shop on line;
In my pajamas, while I dine;
On pizza brought without delay;
On dishes I can throw away.

Once again youve nailed it.
Convenience is only convenience for the person
on the other side of the counter.
The only time there is no wait is for the funeral
home and the trip to the cemetery.
Brilliant as always Jaye.

I was only so lucky enough to be taken in at an early
age, where I worked as a kid in medical research because I only wanted to learn fast and quick.
when I turned 21 after five years working at the UM,
I waited in line to collect an unemployment check.
You would get there early in the morning during the winter,
I am talk 4 AM, well this was back in 1983, and the line started outside almost all the way round from the front of the building, you stood, working your way right, and the sad part wasn/'/t that you had to wait until 5 PM that day to collect our check, or that you might not make it to that point before they closed the window, and then you would have to wait another week for your check,
no, the sad part was that many of the people in line had to bring their small children, and you felt the need to hep them tend to those small children.

This was Wayne County MI, and these were people who were really quite poor. I thought I was poor once,
but I wasn/'/t even ever close.
Do you know, when I went to college I struggled,
because professors could not come down to my level
to explain things.

And that bothered me quite a lot.
You know I would read about history
because I was so bored I had nothing else to do.
It saved my soul, but it didn/'/t make it so easy
so I could understand abstract concept, how to
measure molecule, genetics, physics, how to
paint what I see, or maybe try to pick apart what
a novelist means in any great novel.

I would wait inline all day, all year, all my life for
a good teacher I would, now that I know.

I think only as a child the first idea of a mall
the outside group of stores,
a wonderful attraction, some place to ring
consumers in, an amusement

comparatively speaking to the drab dim
old town structures, you know, the tailor, the
cobbler, the wondrous bakery, the small
diner, and the car dealership where they had
this every man car for people who were
brought north, and allowed to work
for a car factory, even among all the
racism.

Peace!

man oh man that sounds so liberal
but it isn/'/t a complaint.
It is just fact.
you might be lucky enough
to be granted an education,
but even with that education,
you might find that you still do not
understand what they tried to teach.
When you find that you still do not
understand what ever it is they tried
to teach, it is then, you begin to understand
how to teach yourself.
And once you can do that
you can teach others
really complex stuff.
In fact, each time you do
the more you understand
what little you yourself in fact
does actually know.
does you know why understanding
total error, is critical to any measurement?
there are just so many applications,
each one different than the next.
Nobody wants someone to be
given an expenditure for creative
works.
In a world where there are many,
and most certainly too few
Leonardo di vinci
who can act with any kind
of gusto.

Peace!
