I never tire of flying these streets
The sky above embraces me
The rushing wind propels me
Into a world to others completely unknown
It doesn’t get much better than this

Wayne:
There she goes soaring above the skyline
A stunning comet, a majestic eagle
Touching down every so often to chat
To take a glimpse into my awestruck heart
What I would give for a permanent landing!

Kara:
I spot him from the corner of my eye
Watching with a forlorn gaze
How my heart aches for his
Plagued by unrequited love
You’ll never be happy with a mere human
So they tell me...

Wayne:
And so I wait for the day
The day she grows tired enough to remain grounded
Yet her endurance and strength are what I admire most
So...

Keep flying the streets of Metropolis
And if you ever feel like coming back down to Earth
Your greatest human fan will welcome you
With open arms

Very nice Deidra. I/'/m quite pleased to see you posting again. Poets aren/'/t machines....sometimes a break is needed. I know it to be so.

Like the poem a lot. "Wind rushing propels me"
I dig the imagery of this piece.

I really liked this...
Both loving each other and both afraid of letting it show, at least that/'/s how I take it. You have wonderful imagery here, visually and emotionally. A word painting and a damned good one.

Very well done

I really like this.
It knocked me out,
how you dedicated it
equally to people who mean
a lot.

It does not need to be understood
by folks who do not know anything
about these folks,
because it demonstrates in its sincerity
how special they are to you,
for many reasons, and over a long period,
at least as long, as time permits.
