We are tought
to think
in the Box
to behave
to stay
in the Box
we go home
everyday
to live
in a Box
to watch
the Box
to believe
in the Box
and when we die
we lay
in a Box
what a wonderful life
that we live

Man, I really enjoyed this one! Great imagery and wit here—a much needed perspective on society’s influence over our lives. Keep writing and God bless,

we are ambiguously
taut, empirically built
to need companionship
from the day we are born
until the day we die
And then, we/'/re on our
own, like the day we came
wow, holy cow,
years ago people did not
travel more than fifty miles
their entire life
wow, even now people
spend much of their life
on a square rectangular bed
the plane is leaving,
the plane taking the passengers
to the next place, just
like the train, just like the horse,
all in a box,
written on a postcard
Peace! |
