red hot pokers in my gut
and my heart running marathons
being chased by I don`t know what
don`t know why but I start to run
what`s chasing catches my breath
trips my trigger-fingered shotgun
and I rise to face my own death

yesterday I danced
memories of living life out loud
spin me around
`til I remember how to find it
flip my switch again
show me where I buried all my joy
take my blinders off
I know there are colours in the crystal

the fear inside me wages war
razor sharp daggers slicing
`til I can`t feel it anymore
unholy gods sacrificing
the part of me that`s crying out
and begging for this life of sin
the last something I care about
brace myself to take it on the chin

once upon a time
awakened with reasons to live
I opened my eyes
to see technicolour rainbows
turn it on again
I`m desperate for those forever skies
I think I`m ready
to take back this life of mine for good [comments] => 4 [counter] => 88 [topic] => 21 [informant] => MoonlitAngel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

you need most forever skies
to cast away any doubt.

And do shout it out!

it is within you.

Peace!

your battlefields landscape jumps off the page
and runs on the innervisions of my mind
really good flow....

Vivid expression of inner workings. I wasn/'/t expecting a positive ending so I was pleasantly surprised with it. Keep on writing with such imagery.
