I hate the rain so dark and gloomy…
Stuck in this house small and not roomy…

What I wouldn’t give for some sunshine…
To get rid of this depression of mine…

The games not on and the dish is out…
There’s nothing to do but sit and pout…

The lights are on at 3 PM…
The kids are restless, I want to smack them…

Let the rain go away, and come back never again…
Because it brings such glum and that’s how I’ve been…

I’d probably just complain on my water bill…
If the rained stop and then I’d still…

Work my butt off and have no fun…
To feed my grass in the summer sun…

Maybe I’ll go out and act like a kid…
Splash in the puddles like I once did…

Maybe I’ll catch on my tongue a drop of rain…
Maybe just maybe again feel sane…

Then I think of the power Bill that will rise…
To dry my clothes… My conscience sighs…

I hate the rain so dark and gloomy…
Stuck in this house small and not roomy… [comments] => 5 [counter] => 237 [topic] => 48 [informant] => oneir8dude [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

I like the way this poem starts off as an adult talking about mature things and tinking of consequences and then its like they remember a piece of their childhood and drift away but then wake up and realise that they cant act like that anymore becasue they are and adult and have to act responsible. Mayeb it shows the child in all of us
Check out my poem called four reasons, comments and feedback would be much appreciated

Oh, I love the rain! [except when I have to walk home in it for 2 miles as I did today...] But it's a good poem!! Good rhyming!

I enjoyed this write. Its funny how we are all so effected by the weather, I remember feeling that way with days of rain but now since living in the desert I so miss it, infact Im begging right now for a day long hard shower of pure rain! Nice work here.
