[bodytext] => amidst the sun brightly burning
are silken threads woven in the sky
puffs of cotton slowly churning
evaporating before my eyes
you know, waves, they crash, and flux, and flow
somehow speaking everything my heart could know
and all the pawns do come and go
as I ache for all those oh so long agos
but it’s what you chose
standing tall like soldiers fearless
trees do tower miles high above
as sure as my lover dearest
likewise, I’m constantly in awe of
but you, my friend, like seasons do change
over and over again you rearrange
and in your dust I’m left estranged
‘cause you never asked me to make this exchange
and I find it strange
but storms, you know, they rage and ravage
‘til everything in their path has been scavenged
ripped apart, unduly damaged
it’s hard to look at a landscape so savage
that once was lavish
but it’s what you chose
just like clouds
you disappeared
