[hometext] => family violence is the fastest growing crime in the world...
[bodytext] => / //// /
So many tears, but none to see,
families and their secrecy:
bruises hidden under clothes,
the greatest fear, that someone knows.
Silence sits around the pain,
a bell jar of loss and shame:
the whispers and furtive stares,
the greatest hurt, that no one cares.
Bullies grown from playground dirt
relish in the common hurt:
take the pain to other realms,
to families and company helms.
Victims, too find their place,
vulnerable in that space:
wondering what it is they’ve done
to suffer, each and every one.
Between the fears and crippling doubt,
the desperate search for a way out:
nightly weaving in their prayers,
the greatest hope, that //someone// cares.

A powerful reminder that not everyone/'/s home is a sanctuary from the troubles of the world.
For some it is a prison and you have illustrated that perfectly here.
The inhumanity someone is able to show a fellow human being continues to astound me.

A truly heartfelt writing, Spike - covering all the emotions and fears that infiltrate this awful violent trend that permeates throughout the world and throughout humankind. How does one recognise an abuser? Very, very difficult, but they/'/re there in all walks of life. |
