So does old age,
cancer and disease,
drunk drivers and guns,
angry fathers and husbands,
mountain lions and bears,
global warming and smog
and somewhere
theres a teacup poodle
eating the body of his owner
who just died of a heart attack
after a vigorous night
with a japanese prostitute.
I dont concern myself with death.
least of all, my own.

Maybe not a Poodle, but definitely a cat somewhere ... The title and sentiment reminds me of a piano piece on YouTube called “Apathetic Prison”.
Reading this doesn’t make me think of someone who is apathetic. It reads like someone bogged down by life who is reaching out. I like how you wrote it like a response to someone.

Well we all have to die of something, you/'/ve reminded me of that so cleverly here.
What will be will be, that seems to be a message ringing out clearly here, at least for me.
I don/'/t see myself succumbing to a heart attack after a vigorous night with a Japanese prostitute......but who knows what fate has in store!!!
