that allows some words to flow
in ways that neither love
nor pleasure can ever allow.

It transfigures..

They modify you
into ever rose tarnished angels
of darkness.. forever a glint
of blood, spit and festering spite.

You become a new species..
your brothers and sisters - and you.
Words fit better now
vested in steel at your throats
or in fists.. buried in the yellow-green
pulp of split flesh.

They fit better now.. here..
laid out on a morgue slab
than in any drawer.

Something died.
It never comes back, not ever.

Fragments do..
maybe.
Emotional clones-
without a smile, soulless,
beguiling, smug in false, calm courage;
eventually..
but not for everyone.

It's not always the same.
It depends on where it is that you run..
who you meet,
how much you dare
to trust again,
if you ever do.

Devastating, angering, numbing...

Bruising, nerve damaged..
self esteem gutted.

Bottom feeding
and running-
white knuckled
then succombing

When you rise..
and you will,
a new species joins us..
Survivor.

Those of us who care
Will hold you..
help you heal.

Our faith in you
will slay your inner-lies.

To the rest
YOU must roar.

To the rest
YOU must rise..
as a new species.

I have to say that out of all the poems I've read on YPDC in the past few days, this would count as my favorite. I was hooked from beginning to end, it was just amazing.

It is the pain
that allows some words to flow
in ways that neither love
nor pleasure can ever allow.

I can identify with this, I have a very hard time writing poetry when I'm happy, because there's nothing bottled up that has to be released or said.
Kudos to you for this brilliant write, me give you 5 stars. =)

Well M.O.H---what to say...I could most definitely feel the very strong emotions ripping through this write, and it carried on with some serious rhythm and drive...This was dark indeed, and you pulled it off like a pro.

WOW..................what a powerful, and dark write........such emotion.! Does make one feel the point of what was intended......MOH you are a good writer, as I have stated before. Well, I think the pain does subside. Cant say I have that much, nor hope I ever do. But....all time can tell. Keep, releasing the emotion. Again, Thank you for sharing.

Brew~

I could honestly relate to every word of this outstanding poem. Oh these words are so real to me.

Very touching indeed and yet very inspiring.

Thank you, brilliant.
