The day that my heart died
I think of how much its’ cost
And the dwindling of my pride

I think of the days when I was happy
When I was floating light as a feather
On the wings of our love
So very happy together

When they called to tell me you were gone
And the wreck had taken you from me
My life ended right then and there
Never to return to me

There was no way for me to say goodbye
Fore the casket lay closed forever
And by your side I stayed
And told them they would remove me NEVER

But the time came I had to leave
And home I went to sit and grieve
My life is not the same without you
Your love is gone
And I’ve gone with you.

Please your ghost I pray
To stay by me everyday
Help me in the rest of my journey
Guide me on to where you are honey

Please be there to greet me on the other side
Please be standing there with your arms held wide
Please yell out my name and run toward me
Fore I will be running toward you with glee.

Please greet me with a warm soft kiss
The ones that I so terribly miss
Please be there and smile your wonderful smile
And I will know it was worth every mile.

I love you Shane!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
