Feeling the journey is nearing an end
The poet retrieves a forgotten pen
And stumbles self consciously to the page
(Oh! in a myriad of secret ways)
Overwriting a moment of self doubt
As the words relentlessly tumble out

Through the quiet sanctity of the night
Conviction gathers strength as fears alight
Yet teardrops fall to fill the vacant space
Between the words, now so eagerly placed
In line after line, on page after page
Rebirthing the poet just as the day

Into the light of a new morning's dawn
Pen in hand, the poet still carries on
Attempting to free all that had been trapped
Wanting to let it go at last, at last!
And just as the journey truly begins
The poet, exhausted, sets down the pen [comments] => 12 [counter] => 663 [topic] => 19 [informant] => Silent-No-More [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 40 [ratings] => 8 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => InspirationalPoems )

Wow what a marvelous break through. Only another poet could possibly understand that. How many nights have I done just that, and finally exhausted over making so many words, given up and gone to dreamland!
Well written, very good understanding, and really enjoyed this write.
Warm love

Snem! A rare treat indeed! I love the way you put this together, and I can most certainly relate to what you're saying. You expressed yourself quite well with this write. Well done!

Splendid. I think all poets should understand what was said here. I think most of us have felt this before.

'Tis how we do..

I can remember many a night
doing the very thing of which you spoke of..
and so eloquently too, I might add.

very well written-

It's a solitary experience writing poetry but I like it that way.The night is a friend, the poetry cathartic.Anyone who has ever written through the night can only relate strongly to this poem.It is perfectly worded,I just love it,

I attempted to do something like this once. These thoughts, it seems, behind this exquisite poem. I could not and in no way even hold a candle to you. You do it with such grace, elegance, and finesse.

Simply awe inspiring.
