And taught me well

To the nurturer who cared for me
Who supported me
Who rocked me in his arms until I fell
Asleep
Without a peep
He would sing me a song
I knew so well

To the Father who cared
Who always showed his face
Who pretended it didn’t hurt him
When I chose to live in outer-space
When I chose to run
And leave without a trace
After he begged me to stay
A tear rolled down my face

To my one Father
I make my amends
The words spoken out loud
Don’t compare to this page and pen
This sacred bond
A bond amongst men
The unconditional love
That sets us, completely apart from them

To the Father I love
To the hero I envy
To the master of family
And the promoter of unity
A single entity
With your wife,
My mother
By your side
The world is your oyster
On its wave you will ride
On a fathers day so special
I beg you to stand up with pride
And look all around you
See yourself from the inside
Realize what you mean
And how important you have been
Think about the lives you have touched
And the wisdom you impart within

My future engraved in my blood
The genes of my father
The Father I love
