He kissed me gently and I pulled away ever so slightly

He asked me to trust him and I turned and ran, ran far away from his so called trust

He said he wasn’t hurting anybody but I knew if anybody was really getting hurt he wouldn’t notice anyway

He asked me to follow him and I turned and ran in the opposite direction

He asked me to return his calls but instead I pulled the cord

He begged me to come back home and I told him it never really felt like home to me

He asked me to tell him about myself and I asked him if he really wanted me to tell him or just tell him what he wanted to
hear

He asked me to accept him and I said I had accepted my hate for him but that was all

He asked me to forgive him and I answered that forgiveness wasn’t really in my nature

He asked me to smile and I said that I wasn’t really in the mood

He told me to tell him where I was and I answered that I was anywhere but with him

He begged me to continue living and I looked in to his cold eyes and saw there was no point

He told me to drop that knife and I told him I wouldn’t because that’s what he wanted me to do

He asked me to love him and I said that I could never love anyone less

He told me to continue breathing and I refused as I took my last breath

I've personally never experienced anything of this sort. But, you did a wonderful job of getting that feeling across in this. Near the end, I could see the things you described happening; the knife and your last breath. For some reason, it was beautiful to me. I love that this is not the typical suicide poem, this had strength in it, not so much ill-formed despair. I admire your originality in this!
