at the end of her class
and jumps quickly on line
for a three minute pass

a star in time management
she gets so much done
she submits her poetry
and then she must run

but she doesn't stop there
when next there's a break
she updates her blog
and make no mistake

she comments on poems
she doesn't miss one
she answers her mails
she gets it all done

she gets awesome grades
and good times in track
from requirements and duty
she does not slack

as far as daughters go
she's right at the top
but you took away her access
and made it all stop

if she were a bad girl
i might understand
but she's a wonderful kid
extended helping hand

she touches our lives
and makes things much better
all she wants is your approval
so why won't you let her

come back online
and let her take time today
she won't let you down
that won't happen, no way

please her me Mr. K
and I yell this so loud
Jennie's such a fine girl
she'll do you proud! [comments] => 6 [counter] => 346 [topic] => 15 [informant] => jaycee [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FathersDayPoems )

I have to say:
i dunno, i'm at a loss. not good enough? my god, my kids should be as good as you, lol. i wish he could just listen to you. not hear you speaking but listen to your heart. i'll tell you, my kids will always be good enough for me. when my daughter brings home a report card with 6 C's and an F. am i happy? no. but i still love her and don't want her to feel i don't love her. oh, i do try and encourage and motivate her, but it is not something that acceptance hinges on. in my opinion (not that i'm an expert, but i am a parent), parental love should be unconditional. why else would anyone be a parent? okay, that was my long winded rant. Parents out there, love your kids. Not lip service, but listen and care.

Awww..this is very sweet.
I hope her Dad listens to soon...

This is really sweet, I bet she is glad for such a good friend.

I love the poem, it's good and the flow works really well. Simple but very effective rhyme.

Great write,
*hugs* Phil xxx

This is a wonderful poem for someone you clearly consider to be a good friend...I sure hope you get through to her Dad. If nothing else; you effectively showed that you are a near and dear friend, and sometimes that's all that matters....Good job!
