In this world we have no shame.
Show us no pity show us no tears.
In this world we feel no sorrow or have no fear.
Some people look some people stare.
We ask for one thing that you show us you care.
We need love from our family and friends.
They will be there for us until the end.
Our body is weak but our we have a strong mind.
Please except us and be kind.
We have our thought's we have our dream's.
Before you say CRIPPLE think about what it means.
There's alot of things we could wish for.
Most of all we wish we weren't cripple anymore.

Strong, emotional write...I've often wondered why people are so afraid of something/someone that's different. I once went to a concert where the singer had all the lights turned off for just a moment and said; "In the dark we are all the same..." I find it so frustrating that with so many REAL problems in the world, people get hung up on things that shouldn't matter at all...Very good poem from the heart, and I hope it reaches some of the readers.

Excellent work. I am termed handicapped and use a walker and a wheelchair now. But we are only handicapped if we choose to be. My legs may not work well anymore, but my mind and the rest of me does. I choose not to be handicapped or "crippled" and no one seems to look at me like that. I have a life, I tend to a mother, I drive, I date, I live each day like everyone else. I refuse to be "crippled".
Blessings to you,
Rita

Wow! I really love this poem. I can relate to it because I have mild Cerebral Palsy. I can understand when little kids look at me and wonder what's wrong but its another thing when adults start. That just makes me so mad! I wish more people could at least try to be more understanding!
God Bless,
~Ashley~
