Rip at my heart.
To go find another
To make a fresh start

You say that just now
Be can’t be together
That your life is too much
Like stormy weather

My love for you
Runs oh so deep
You may as well say
Off a bridge I must leap

To go find another to love
That we must part
But what good would I do them
When you hold my heart

Listen to the words that I speak
I made a promise to not only you but me
To see that happiness is always
In the cards for thee

So if a lifetime of friendship
Is all that we see
Then I will strive
And the best friend I will be

Please all I ask from thee
This I think you know
Please baby I beg of you
Never ask me to go

Wow, I really don't know what I would do if my love told me to leave...This poem is good too, Very heartfelt and sad, but with a small light of hope at the end....Good luck to you with everything

Wow! Another great write from one of the great poets at yourpoetry.com. I feel privileged to be here. " But what good would I do them
When you hold my heart" I have these same feelings about someone and to me it is so hard to deal with them because some people just don't understand them. Sometimes I do wish, like it seems some people think we can just do, to have an "emotion" chip we could just unplug like good ol' Data of STNG. Would make like simpler now wouldn't it.
Thanks for writing here. I loved reading this.

Very beutiful.... I related to this a lot.

I like the way you tap into your emotions and sum up those of some many in the process.

Now that is a declaration of real love. To accept just being a friend to be able to stay around them. That is quite a love. This is quite a poem.

Smiles,
Rita
