This smoky air Is suffocating my senses Calculating my despair Ive acquired numerous losses Although they can never compare To the masses They strike a chord within me Exacerbating the catalyst
Everyone has a job to do I guess they should do them well No one, supposedly, controls you Yet your sprit is jailed You control your destiny That myth has been dispelled In this new world irony The path is concealed
The nature grows around me Where has the judgment sunk Are we machines feeding on money With our emotions locked in the trunk Is this all that remains of huminty The decency that withstood time, Slowly has withered and shrunk
Debate me if you disagree I dare you, enter your plea I could swear your smirking face Is shouting you are guilty I'll let you down gently I'll even give you the remedy The trick to achieving serenity Is to set your body free

I enter a guilty plea, but plead my case all the same. This in-decent world exacerbates a catalyst within me as well, but at the same time I am caught in a horrid, cyclical and slow death of unrealized desires. I can say I find serenity quite frequently but we've all learned ways to shut it off and shut them out. The ways we lack are the ways down that concealed path - concealed even to ourselves, usually.
Very interesting piece here, and it is just not right people haven't commented on it. But then again, that says something else, doesn't it? Fantastic job!

Hmmm...this seems like a veiled, self struggling write...to me anyway. I like it because in one sense it's like you're teaching the reader, but hidden in between the lines your sitting patiently, waiting to be taught...The title caught my eye because about 10 years ago, I wrote a poem entitled; "I Plead Insanity". lol That should give you a laugh!!!
