The music plays mournfully
For the lost piano player.
The notes aren't played the same
As they echo rustically
With the amateurish slayer
Of begotten refrains.

The notes lose time
As the amateur plays
The wrong lines
Till coherence fades.

Not even he knows
The song anymore
As the wrong notes flow
Unfittingly more.

The poor piano keys and strings
Having to suffer his incessant drumming.
He has no talent even reading the lines,
And it's amazing that he brings
Tears to your eyes with his playing
Of the ballads not played with time,

But played by the mournful Beethoven
Unable to see his melodic heaven. [comments] => 8 [counter] => 162 [topic] => 43 [informant] => Essentially9 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 20 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

I really like this poem, it's really poetic :) It's hard to replicate what an artist like Beethoven can do, so it's hard to appreciate a comparison when a lesser talent comes forth on the floor...

Your poem makes beautiful music, Jennifer

I have the strong feeling that there is something powerful behind this piece that eludes me.
Mayhaps intentionally??
Otherwise a sadly powerful piece...thanks Jenn!

A very stirring rendition of regret perhaps, mixed in with some nostalgia and heartache. The imagery was strong. I could picture this pathetic man at the piano, caught up in his own sorrow. Not even conscious of his actions. This write is different than your norm, but was a pleasure to read.
