Of past liasions and encumbered hate
My ex destroyed every part of me
Leaving me in a frail dead like state

Tarnished ruins remain
Embering in my heart
Excruciating pain
Adamant and so stark

I never knew that my ex could
Break me to the point
Sever my fragile heart
At each and every joint

Sitting back in the shadows
Like a queen who's been dethroned
With dormant love that lays buried
Forever fervent and forlorned

The sands of time wither
As they slowly slip through the hour glass
I weakly pray on bended knees
As the tears on my cheeks surpass

I can no longer endure this pain
A marred future lays ahead
Distorted dreams and visions
I'd better off being dead

As the rains came and went
I thought 'twas my foreseen destiny
To remain forever lonely and unloved
This heart's beauty a useless amenity

The long awaited anticipation
Of a new love to venture my way
Came as the seasons changed
Unexpected 'twas the day

A new love came a drifting
He made his love avail
I wearily chanced to partake
As I wonder will love prevail?

Of course true love will prevail, cause it's the kind of love to take you to heaven & keep you far from hell! In my heart each beat doesn't fade, instead it beats harder for a true love to stay!! love can be scared,or love can be brave, it can be hoping for a prayer,or find the answer & be forever saved!!! Beautiful poem, like that who wrote it!!!!

Lots Of Love,
DAN!!!!!

I think you just told the story of the last year of my life! Been there, lived through it, and just when I thought I would always be alone, there he was. Time only will tell what will transpire. But it proved to me that there is always love somewhere and we have to chance it or live our lives desolate and lonely. Wishing you strength and forever love.

love always does.

I love how this poem blossoms in the end..
speaking of an "unexpected day"
and a "new love"

so there is hope after all...
very cool..
great write

Wow Sue what a sad and powerful write with a happy ending. I hope love does prevail for you my friend you are a very loving soul and you only deserve the best. As for the ex he will have to live with what he lost. He lost one of the best and he lost love and I pray forever he lives knowing this. You are a great friend and its great to see you get these emotions out. I have my own problems and you have helped me so much by being their for me to talk to. I’m always here if you need anything. Take care Sue and know you are loved by many. Your good friend Steve
