Array ( [sid] => 94117 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Who my real friends are [time] => 2005-05-12 00:25:12 [hometext] => A poem inspired by recent events. [bodytext] => Can I trust you when my life is sad
and all events around me are going bad?
Do you make light my problems when I''m not here
constantly provoking with hearty jeers?
Do you visit when I am gone;
Do you wonder what has been so long
or do you barely notice that I''ve been away
are you really loyal or just two faced?
I notice often that words barely line up
with the actions we perform from our hearts
and it lets me know who my friends really are.

I''m constantly chasing those who call me friends
constntly trying hard to understand
why they do not treat me with the same respect
that I strive to treat them with
They do not really hold me in the same regard
and often when I say this they just make my life hard
It feels as if I''m walking this whole **** life alone
if I were gone tomorrow no one would notice.
I see there actions and I know their love''s hollow
there is nothing about them to follow.

Is your friendship really true and deep
Is it myth- like lacking harmony
filled with broken promises and hypocrisy
when they look at you is that all they see?
When you read this does it make you mad
Do you deny that you are this bad
is the author''s view a little flawed
when he thinks about you and says "not worth it"
only answer this from with in your heart
I already know who my real friends are?

Author's note:
I am very grateful for the friends I have. Recent events have narrowed that list alot and confirmed suspicions I would rather not say. I will only touch upon this subject once because I do not want to cause too much contreversy. I am glad to be back on sight; there are 3 times I have been off the site for longer than a month on 2 occassions no one noticed or cared that I was gone and on the third 4 people noticed. I recently had site problems and all but 1 person did not even take me seriously and one made a joke about it. Those events inspired this poem and let me know that I give friendship too easily to people. For some reason it seems better just to walk life's paths alone because when ever I try to do otherwise I always get hurt! I am tired of getting hurt. Maybe it is time I treated people the way they treat me. I am very sorry to hear of all this and sorry that you have been hurt. But Archie, even though people treated you badly that is no reason to bring yourself down to their level. You are a better person than that. I too have been gone for a while and am so delighted to be back. I just ignore people that try to hurt me. I refuse to become what they are. God bless you. Hope to see you around.

Peace,
Rita

Archie I'm so sorry for all the pain people have caused u. U are an awesome and very talented poet. I love ur work it has so much meaning behind every word. What ever u seem to write about u always do it so well.
I have missed u and have wondered where you've been.

A truly talented poet
You really are
You out shine
The shiniest star
A beautiful person
Who touches my heart
With his friendship and
His beautiful art
I've been struggling
With problems too
I'm so sorry
If I didn't get back to you
I hope you shall stay on
Not all of us are that bad
You think we forgot you
That truly made you sad
The truth was that
I never forgot you at all
Too caught up with depression
Still I should've given u a call
It won't happen again
You have my word
You're a friend til the end
I hope I make myself heard...

Take care dear friend.
*hugs*

I don't think people mean to ignore others, some just lead such busy lives, it's hard to keep up with everyone and everything. I'm sorry you felt they deserted you, that's not a good feeling. But, don't take away a good quality about yourself because of that feeling. Everyone you befriend is blessed to know you, and so are you, even if you only stay friends a short time.

My dear Archie,
The whole world is filled with many many hypocrites, but I'm so glad you are not one. They are two faced Archie, because they no longer hold themselves in high esteem like you and I! When another stops loving himself, then it's impossible for him to love another.
Remember dear friend Archie.....what we do to another is what we first do ourselves, please do not lower yourself to their level, and if you repricate and do as they do.......they one day a hyprocrite like they you will be.
I know you struggle with sadness Archie, but please know......you have many genuine friends here at YPDC..........we love you genuinely, and so put the true friends on your list, and leave the others alone, or you will eventually become just like them.
Archie, I appreciate all your lovely comments on my poems.
Thanking you so much
Lovingcritters......and humans too
ConSue

I'm sorry you feel hurt - only, unless you say otherwise, people may just presume you are busy. I get on a lot more during school breaks, but once classes start I might be away a while, and during mid-terms and finals hardly at all.
Anyway, I can only *try* to be a friend, but I'm not perfect and I know it. It was a very heartfelt poem you have written.

Oh Archie, I'm sorry that you feel this way and that you were treated badly.

I can relate to this a lot at the moment. I am in pretty much the same situaton at the moment. It's hard finding out who my real friends are.

This is a heartbreaking write, Archie. I hope it gets better for you soon.

*hugs*

Archie everthing you have said in this poem I have felt, its like my feelings have come from your mind,, you dont have to be like those people but feel in this world today we have to be a bit stronger and stand up for ourselves..
People seem to see kindness as a weakness and sometimes use it against you.
Not everyone is like that, you just have to recognize the ones who are. xxxx
