he steals through the night
dressed all in black
hiding in the shadows, covering his tracks
she lays in the dark
pretends to be sleeping
careful to hide
the secrets shes keeping
he comes home late
crawls into bed
wondering if she wishes
that he were dead
they dont sleep so good
monsters in the night
mom and dad will be fighting
come mornings light
how did they get here
and how will it end
when did they cross the line
between lovers and friends
why do we follow
our selfish desires
why do we become
adulterers and liars
is it for love
or is it for lust
to fill that void
we think we must
so they search their hearts
but now its too late
all of them lost
to the hands of fate
