This dark, cold tomb,
My eternal confinement,
Life…

Weeping dead memories,
Fires of fury rekindled,
Suffocating on despair,
What do you do,
When all you loved and believed in,
Vanishes?

"Those people aren’t your friends,
That emotion you feel is not love,
All is an illusion,
And you do not exist…"

“Replenish yourself with your tears,
Drown in your sea of sorrow…
Flower of Suffering,
Bleeding rose,
Wilt away into nothingness,
A mass of black, coarse petals,
Beauty in decay…”

The Voices of feigned Reason,
Speak to me, whispers of bloody release,
Songs of anguish and immortal lies…
Here I lay,
Broken and bleeding,
Yet, no blade has tasted my flesh…

Dying in your embrace,
Bitter daggers holding me…
Your words, poisonous deceptions,
You don’t love me…
You love my agony…

Darkness, ever present,
Waiting to consume me…
Sorrow, a silent hymn I sing…

Drowning in my own tears,
Endless rivers of melted recollections,
My world is flooding,
I can swim for only so long…

I’m dying…

Wow! That is such an imazing poem. Full of beautifully morbid words. My favorite thing about this, is that you can feel the emotions pouring from the words. I love your use of metaphors that depict such vivid views of the experience. The personification used is astounding, it simply adds another level to the poem. Your imagery is incredible, your use of words impecable. And it flows, I didn't want to stop reading. Great Write.

I can relate to this emotional write. All our pleasure seems lost amid the pain, washing out to an endless sea. Here's hoping you find the true love that just may exist somewhere out in this big vast plane of existence. A job well done! ~joni~

I love this poem. The way the narrative twists makes it almost operatic in structure. I love the way you change from bold to italic to quoted "spoken" text to separate the text. I could almost picture ?three? elements to your personality vying for control of the poem.

Excellent.

I think of the poets that I enjoy reading, those that shine are the ones that never seem to fall into a rut, a certain pattern or form that predominates their writing. That is one of the things that sets you high on my list Steph. You are always fresh, and don't seem to me redundant at all. I admire your abilities. You are only going to become more and more amazing.

Wow I haven't been on here in a few days
and I have missed reading your latest works
of art. I honestly think this was my favourite
poem by you just so many exquisite lines that
will stay with me for awhile. I can relate to this
poem very well as I have been in this lonely
place many times and have written about it
many times, but this piece wow I do not have
adequate words to describe it.
