Is love worth waiting for
After so much time's passed?
Can I rekindle the fire anymore,
Or was it not meant to last?

The strewn rose petals
Rot where they settle.
The expensive chocolates
Are filled with maggots,
And only the gain of pain
Of love loss is blamed.

The love that could transcend
Death, couldn't surpass broken trust.
The broken heart can only mend
When there's an end to lust,

But the stitches only begin
The hate for love and sin. [comments] => 10 [counter] => 168 [topic] => 43 [informant] => essentially9 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

I love the first stanza Jen, the rest only add to the piece of masterful delight. The ending is perfect and still seems
unfinished, but with the picture still whole in my mind...
Great and yet a favorite of mine now...Lovely and I await you next piece as always,

Clark.

Jennifer this is absolutely sensational. The imagery used casts a vivid picture in the readers head. Another great masterpiece. Well done.

I like this part the most....

The love that could transcend
Death, couldn't surpass broken trust.
The broken heart can only mend
When there's an end to lust,

amazing.

The love that could transcend
Death, couldn't surpass broken trust.
The broken heart can only mend
When there's an end to lust,

*sigh* ....that was just damn good. lol, no other way of putting it :P That one stanza blew me away, and then the conclusion came and just kicked me right in the balls (lol, i think im gettin' too graphic now...) But anyways, this was almost like a...love poem? I don't see enough of those from you, and if you write them like this, write dozens more of them more often!

You seem to always have your feet on the ground when you're writing, always basing things deeply in reality, if you know what i mean by saying that. It's just that...all your poems have realistic conclusions to some of life's big questions, and that's always a pleasure to see. No fairy tale crap here, beautifully done!

(how long was this comment? :S....lol and i have so much more to say, but since it's long already i'll leave it for another day)
