And pray to die like noble men
We fly high on angel wings
And fight and bleed for no-mans land
In the trenches of our souls
Missing is the inspiration
We once had come to know
As our saving testament
Here alone our struggles insists
Their intensity persists
The tormenting they exude
Can not resist and will never desist

The Prince of the machine
Orders his women cleaned
His dedication to his legacy
Has overtaken his kindness
A precarious position
Of love, fear and intuition
Mourning the losses sustained
His quest remains unattained

In the shallow ocean
Where no man drowns
A new King is crowned
The outlandish ceremony
Fit for his kind of royalty
A gasp, a shout, constant uncertainty

Grappling with tumultuous decisions
Lingering memories of dark prisons
A beast of rage, let loose, abandoned
Now powerless against his own religion

The Gods of perpetual doom
Poised, ready to assume
The position vacated long ago
Long before anyone can know

Carved in stone, set aside
Buried bones, attempt to hide
The atrocities of Kings before
The heroics of those Gods
You worship and bow before

Think of these Kings no more
Think of their deception with scorn
Die a noble man, one unsaved
Live like a King, till’ your dieing age

Appease only those you love
Allow none to be modestly placed above
Your family and humble home
Your life today shall become your throne

Hmmm I like this one quite a bit...it makes me think of self struggle, and being chained by our past...Also an uncertain future, and perhaps not quite convinced that a bright, happy future should be allowed...Your use of metaphors was done quite well too.
