wondering why I keep myself alive
I think about killing myself all the time
but I know I'm not brave enough to actually do it
the only thing that keeps me sane is my knife
My only true friend
All my "real" friends don't understand me
I try to act "normal" around them
Put on a smile,
Act like everything's okay,
but they see right through me
They know something's wrong
but they don't care
They'd rather pretend like nothing's wrong
than to get into my drama
Well here I am
with the rope around my neck
hanging from my front yard tree
I finally got brave and depressed enough
to go through with it
When they find me hanging here tomorrow
I'll bet they'll wish they would have cared a little more [comments] => 4 [counter] => 178 [topic] => 36 [informant] => SelfDistruction [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 3 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Suicide )

You've got a friend here too! At one point in my life I felt just like you do... but obviously... I didn't go through with it either. I'm still here. though I never picked up a knife... I found other ways to hurt myself.
The cuting thing I knew nothing about until about 2 years ago. I have talked with many to understand it. I think I now do.
I'm sure your friends care... they're not sure of what to do or how to help you.
This is a good poem... well expressed feelings here. Nice job.
Love... hugs...
~Donna~
