Hatred, from a heart bred in the winter.
Quiet the voices, it says.
Those that speak softly and drive us mad.
Those that think their helping but send
us into rage.
The ones who make us feel like children...
Helpless once more against the world.
Bitter tears run down my face...
I reach to wipe them away...
No other sleeve...
I do not want another sleeve...
You and your soft and helpful words...
Can keep away from me.
Rage.
Why do I feel such rage...
When they take my pride from me...
Make me feel as thought there is
a flaw in me...
Make me want to beat them away...
To seperate myself as best I can...
Make me tear my arms to shreds...
And cry my eyes out like an infant...
Make me wish that I was not who I am...
Just to be rid of this embarassment...
I have been bred in solitude and
individuality...
I know nothing more, any longer...
And cannot stand to have you standing
next to me...
Looking over my shoulder,
And treating me as though
I would not survive in the world...
Only on the things I know.
You do not let me breath on my own...
I want to cut these ties...
I need to be alone...
You've made it so...
I need to be alone.
Get away.

That was a wonderful poem. I don't like when people think they're helping you when it turns out they are just annoying while doing so... that you want to stay away from them... They act like they understand you when they really don't, that's how my stepdad is. He's nice sometimes, but not a lot of the time. Great Job. Jenny

Very nice poem... Makes me think of my mother... oh don't you love when they kill you with kindness... I know this is not my poem but I would think that the last line should be Go away not get away.... though that is mine own opinion... I did like it though
