And there’s no sunshine without the rain
Cover my eyes so I am blind
Take my breath away, I don’t mind
Filled with emotion are the skies
As I watch in amazement the proverbial sunrise
A warm tear slips down my cheek
I open my mouth but cannot speak
Filled is my heart, yet empty my soul
Swallow me up, completely and whole
I have fallen so far from the tree
And I am so far from where I could be
My tears fall to the ground in silence
Then like glass they shatter in violence
For this there is no explanation
I’m running away with no destination
Following footprints that don’t exist
Wanting to turn back but I can’t resist
I won’t live on empty promises anymore
I won’t rely on you like I did before
Heading into the sunrise with a smile on my face
So much clear air, so much empty space
I forgive myself for the things I have done
Release my pain, fall into the sun…

I found the images and expression very moving, and very well done. Excellent work, with a touch of Life to it that made it a joy to read.

Sometimes I feel my heart has hardened, unable to feel anything but pain anymore, then I come across this. Simply beautiful, like... well, I won't compare, because comparisons I think of come up flat. You breathe life into mere words and shape them so we feel. Thank you for sharing.
