My chest still aches
There ain’t too much
That I don’t hate
Right now
Oh, somehow

The sun’s too loud
The wind’s too bright
Don’t recall too much
What I did last night
Again
Make it end

I woke up on the wrong side of dead
Think I oughtta stay right here in bed
I can’t feel my feet, my hands, or teeth
But God, I feel my head
And I woke up on the wrong side of dead

Smell cigarettes
Taste stale beer
I hurt too much
To work I fear
That ain’t good
But it’s understood

The boss man called
Said get to work
I hate that man
He’s such a jerk
But oh well
Life is hell

( Cuz )
I woke up on the wrong side of dead
Think I oughtta stay right here in bed
I can’t feel my feet, my hands, or teeth
But God, I feel my head
And I woke up on the wrong side of dead

I swear this is the last time I’ll ever do this again
Least ‘till Friday night when I go out with all my friends
I know it’s only Monday and the whole week is ahead
But I woke up on the wrong side of dead

I woke up on the wrong side of dead
Think I oughtta stay right here in bed
I can’t feel my feet, my hands, or teeth
But God, I feel my head
And I woke up on the wrong side of dead

Scott that was just amazing, I like how you write you’re songs it’s edgy and unique I liked it a lot. I can almost hear Bon Jovi sing this.

Great write/song as always.

Jane

I enjoyed the humor in this poem, which seems to reflect a hangover. At least that was the impression I got. Had to smile and chuckle ..... been there, done that

Writing songs and poetry seem to be your forte'

Great write

Very well written poem and another of your pieces that I’ve enjoyed. It sounds like such a struggle of life. It has to meanings I believe and one being so deep it hearts to read. Thank you for your words…Steve
