We've been to war
We know what it is like
Love out the window
And hate to the fore
Nothing to do but live each day
In the of hope of life and love we pray
The shadow of doubt
Hangs over our heads
Darkening the skies
Darkening our lives
September clouds forever dark
Locked in our heads
Locked in our hearts
Should we listen to the voice of war?
Or can we listen for something more
Something inside us tells what we know
Are we too scared or too frightened to show?
We know what we want
Our hearts tell us so.
