The ink bleeds through the stained page
In an evanescent tirade of belated rage.
Only blankness can stay as talent fades.

The paints are shades of gray
That express the artist's pain
Of his inspiration that fades.

Wrong chords are mistakenly placed
In the staff that was drawn in shame
So that the ability to play now fades.

The ink is desecrated and wasted on the page,
The colorless paints of gray are chipped away,
And the dead notes no longer play the same.

The death of all muses procreates
The fate of art to decimate and fade. [comments] => 14 [counter] => 201 [topic] => 69 [informant] => essentially9 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => poets )

You can't stop writing. You might be going through a bout of writer's block, but just give it some time. Everything will be ok. I was like this too, not too long ago actually. Don't stop writing! I enjoy reading what you have to say. *S* Cynthia

J,
Sounds like you are writing about me.......... Terrible feeling, so it is...... As a talented writer I know once told me, "Let those who have no talent, write as much, You need to write more"............. The words will come when they are supposed to. Keep the faith.

Trust me,

The Voice

I deeply feel the flow of this one
we all fade
but then you'll feel it
and you will flow
as you only you can.

there's 2 kinds of insperation, out ward and inward, one u get and give back, the other u give and get back in either case they must be of a real origin or this can happen what your going through . . . wish u well in your quest . . .

I truly hope you don't stop writing. I'm sure this is just a classic case of writer's block and it happens to everyone, but once you come out of it, the best work comes with it. :-)

interesting choice of words for the last stanza.
i like it. alot

another excellent write. this is a topic i've toyed with myself but have never been able to express, therefore i personally have decided not to tackle it until i was ready. you really did an amazing job here, you built up some very vivid images of colors and music and just art in general and you properly conveyed emotions here.

i could really feel this poem, as far as feeling poems goes...meh, i culd b high now u never kno : ) lol but anways this was another fine piece, and hopefully there really isnt a drought of writing coming along or anything....

Jen,
You have such a way with words. It amazes me. You are so entirely talented. It is so nice to see someone with such a great wrting ability. You could write a poem in your sleep and still have it come out as amazing and though provoking as the ones you write while awake. Astonishing... really thats all i can say. Great job never stop writing!
~Leslie
