so whos the liar now?

the paper you wrote was wonderful
your story was quite entertaining
your solutions are always helpful
(the advice you give is an unwed strumpet)
that poem was a great read
your words are beautiful
that dinner was scrumptious
you can have whatever youd like
i will never stop loving you)

(in all that you do,
please lie to me too)

so paint your face like a liar
with the eyes of a cat
the rivels of the rock
and the crown of the king cobra
and keep

a clean canvas
as an open confessional
for gifts as lies; extravagant
and infinitesimal)

in the hot dry sand
and the cold wet asphalt
hang from trees
the golden apples;
take a bite and keel over in my love (lies) for you [comments] => 1 [counter] => 164 [topic] => 43 [informant] => electrique_poet [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

Your vocabulary is neat and essential, I have learnt so much from this...
I can relate to this piece, in more ways than you know.
White lies are still lies, despite their good intent.
I particularly liked your use of parenthesises, specifically the content within them.
“unwed strumpet” –an amusing and rather contradicting metaphor for the advice given by one.
(in all that you do, please lie to me too)
I have written and lived by this very statement.
Perhaps what we give (lies), we also need, within our own times of desperation and acceptance.

I love the rhetorical notion of appearing, physically like a “liar”, as if it were some universal concept, and the symbolism, in between your words...
“Clean canvas”… perhaps nothingness is our only truth?
Could everything be a lie?
Or is the canvas our basis for dishonesty?
Lies are gifts, in a sense.
White lies especially, they are gifts of all sorts, including ego boosts, such as “you are beautiful”, etc.
“in the hot dry sand
and the cold wet concrete.”
-Is this to say, between the range of both extremes, lives a diversity of lies?
You have not only eloquence but the capacity to move worlds, you are relentless and thought provoking, thank you for sharing this piece.
