Down a dark abandoned street
calmer now, no eyes to meet
there's no need to look away
or think of something sane to say
Hidden in this blackened alley
you will have a chance to rally
strength to make it one more block
scared as hell, you start to walk

Somehow still you see the faces
breath comes harder, heartbeat races
panic raving at the door
weakened, you can't take much more
Close your eyes and count to ten
maybe they'll be gone by then
with their voices shrill and screaming
obscuring lines 'tween real and dreaming

Trembling now, a rage of tears
on your knees before your fears
reaching out to touch illusions
insanity births live delusions
wailing louder hell's crescendos
demons whisper innuendoes
broken minds must dwell upon
a flash of light and they are gone

"Down a dark abandoned street

This is my favorite part. To me, it sounds like here you are describing how you (or whoever) are relieved to be alone. This way you don't have to try to be "normal" or anything like that. Amazing write.
