Living on the edge for so long
Got punished badly for my longing
to explore the other side

Took a bit of it with me to where I am now
I had nothing but now I'm left with even less
Sad but true; I must confess
I'm craving for those moments spent in agony

Everything was upside down
I ran with the dogs
And cried to the howling wind
Broke every promise I made to myself

When you know what you want
It’s only a matter of taking
And one day I’ll return to take back what’s mine
To regain the power I once felt inside

Great Poem. I liked it alot but personally I think it could have used a little punctuation here and there.

Liked your poem alot. I like that there is still within you to do good and want to. So we all fall on our knees, get up and try again. so to speak. temptations come but they come to make us stronger. one day no tempts will come and we passed the test........ great write. sandy

Self-confidence is a strength so easily lost and so very difficult to gain back. Leaves us longing for the times when something else, however false, so easily took its place.
Nice stuff.
