[title] => AN OLD MAN by Larry lile
[time] => 2005-02-03 06:46:41
[hometext] => this was written for my grandaddy Claude Lile
[bodytext] => In 1907, his mother gave birth to him. A short year later, tho he needed her so, the angels took her with them. Early in the thirty's, he took miss Lovey for his wife. He didn't know it then, but thirty years later, she would die, while asleep in the night. Yes he's an old man, sitting out on his front porch. Leaning back in a straight chair, watching cars go by. Yes he's an old man, setting out on his front porch. Wondering what else is, going to change in his life! He had three sons, but only now, two survive. The middle one died, in a tragic car wreck where seven people, loss their life. In the back, of a pickup truck, coming home, from a field. He learned long ago, what we all know now, that drunk drivers hurt, and kill. Yes hes an old man, setting out on his front porch. Leaning back, in a straight chair, watching cars go by. Yes he's an old man, sitting out on his front porch Wondering what else is, going to change in his life. He's seen us come, from horse's, to jet airplanes. From steam enjine locomotives, to todays new bullit fast train's Hard times, and harder work, was all he knew, all his life But he always did, what he said he'd do. And he always tried to do, what was right ! Yes he was an old man, setting out on his front porch. Leaning back, in a straight chair, watching cars go by. Yes he was an old man, setting out on his front porch. And I truley miss him, since hes left, this life.
