Didn't have a chance
Why did you have to be like this?
Normal seems so long ago
You had your life ahead of you
Our future dreams shattered with one word
Autism
A heavy curse fell upon us
Why us? Why couldn't you be normal?
My youth; my childhood is lost forever
Because of the time I spend watching you; protecting you
People stare and people ridicule
They don't understand why you act so different
You control our lives
Like we're pupets on a string
A string held by you
My long lost life bekcons me
I long to live; to stretch my wings
But duty comes before luxury
So as your sister
I wrap my wings around you

Remember we are all God's children, to him we are all the same. Your little brother is so lucky to have a sister like you, keep those wings wrapped around him. Beautifully written.

A beautiful poem! I understand the feelings behind it as i have two sisters who are autistic, but i wish i could protect them as much as you do with your brother. He is more special than others, not because of the autism but because you are in his life. You are doing a great job! please keep writing!
