for the game
the dancing and the spinning around
endless innuendoes
I have no respect for the blushing girls
children
batting their eyes while tiny, pouting mouths
beg
I have no respect for the boys
children
who grab and guess and brag
strutting peacocks in men’s bodies
I do not write for them
but I have learned to respect
the tender, well placed kiss
the inside of a wrist
the base of the neck
I know how well the lightest touch
can make the head spin and waver judgement
I know how just the right look
can quicken the heart
how well I know
because in the end it is not about the boy
or the girl
it is about that feeling
like the very air is some kind of drug
that dulls senses and pan
I have no respect for the people
but experience has taught me to respect the addiction

This is a really wise and amazing poem. I am so glad I peeked in to read your stuff. Very excellent word placement and mix of emotion. Tiffany J. (Red_October)

Being the romanticist that I am, I truly admire and agree with this piece.
It is bold and courageous and even eccentric.
I like that you have described a match of flirting as a game.
And the act of flirting “the dancing and the spinning around” –very insinuating and metaphorical.
You have figuratively described and/or compared this couple to children, which is very effective and symbolical.
Infatuations are usually childish, resulting in acts of immaturity.
Very analytical of you to preserve these rather intimate details and emotive suggestions.
“Strutting peacocks in men’s bodies”
I love this idiom it is extremely creative.
“The tender, well placed kiss
the inside of a wrist
the base of the neck”
With this, you have cheapened the value of flirtatious invitation.
From simple creations (such as a well, placed kiss) you have swooned me with the rather Edwardian concept of methodical performances and patience. You have reinforced the appreciation and observation of fine detail and intentional bold movements, with a hint of dramatisation.
“But experience has taught me to respect the addiction ”
Being of addictive personality, I can entirely relate.
Well done, I loved this piece.

I guess this is you cuting out the chaff of courtship. Romanticist says it all . . . again.

Well written. I really enjoyed it.
