Array ( [sid] => 81353 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A Broken Ankle [time] => 2005-01-24 22:50:45 [hometext] => this is a story not a poem, i tried to go into the story part but it wouldn't let me so i have to post this for a grade. [bodytext] => “Samantha Louise Stone, what in the world did you do?!” my best friend Michael gasped and rushed over to see me. “It’s nothing, really, just a silly little scrape, which they just happened to decorate it with an annoyingly bright pink cast.” He laughed at my story and hugged me, nearly knocking me over on the unsteady crutches. “Sam, what really happened? Hmmm?” I laughed at his antics, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to veer his curiosity elsewhere I sighed and hobbled over to a cafeteria table. “Alright! So….” I mumbled while sitting on the uncomfortable seat, Michael sat across from me, hands on his face just waiting for the story.
“Okay, so it all started when I called Jayden Johnson…” Michael cut me off “YOU! Samantha Stone, called the ‘hottest’ guy in school who you have only been dreaming about since 1st grade when he stole your pencil, you called him?” he was obviously shocked. “Yes Michael, I Samantha Stone called the most beautiful boy ever! But that’s not the story so SHH!” shaking my head, I restart the story “So I called Jayden right, because he had given me his phone number in Chem. So I thought ‘hey why not call him’, so I did. When we talked he told me we should study together because I am supposedly good at it, which I’m not but whatever. So the next day he picked me up and we went back to his house since he said he had a good study room…..” “WAIT, WAIT, WAIT!” he yelled again, he was so ruining my story. “You went to his house? Oh man Sam, he probably wanted to do more than study…” “Michael Lee Andrews I won’t tell you my story if you keep interrupting it!”
Michael quickly hushed and focused on me as I tried to remember where I left off. “So we went to his house, and his parents were at the store and would be back soon he said, so I was like ‘okay’ and we went downstairs and sat at the table and whipped out our Chem. Books. So after studying for 30 minutes, his parents still weren’t home and it was storming outside. As you know, I am a scaredy-cat and got paranoid so I couldn’t focus on the homework anymore. This was when we decided to take a break and watch some T.V. because T.V. is harmless right? Well as we were watching T.V. the power went out! Yea so there I was, alone, in the dark with Jayden Johnson.” I paused, figuring that Michael would jump in with another one of his ‘NO WAYS!’ oddly enough he was very intrigued and rose an eyebrow meaning for me to continue. “Okay, so the power went out and we were just sitting there, so I stood up thinking that he did and began to walk to the stairs thinking I was following him. Turns out I wasn’t, I was following his dog that dripped me and when I landed my ankle twisted and went backwards! This was when the lights flickered back on and Jayden was standing there over me shocked. I also happened to be crying, half from the fall, half from embarrassment. So he carried me back to the couch, got me an ice pack and sat there staring at me not knowing what to say…” Michael laughed “YOU must have died! I can see the look on your face now, embarrassed yet trying to act tough…”
I smiled, he knew me too well. “Okay so I was trying to act ‘tough’ but it didn’t matter, but oddly enough the day was the best day of my life.” “Huh? Why?” he asked curiously “Well Michael, as he was sitting there staring at me not knowing what to say he blushed and said ‘Sam, you’re beautiful, I can’t stop staring at you.’, and then he kissed me. I was sitting there hugging my ankle and he kissed me, it was the best moment of my life. He also told me that he was to shy before to tell me he had the biggest crush on me since he stole that pencil in 1st grade, and I told I felt the same way… and he asked me out.” Michael’s mouth dropped, he squealed and screamed “My baby girl’s growing up!”
