A lil boy looked up at me just the other day
with tear filled eyes
this is what he had to say
I want my mommy back again
to tuck me in at night
I want her here to hold me,
I don't wanna hear her and my daddy fight.
I want my mommy back again
for the drugs took her away
the police broke down my door last night
and now I have new home to stay.
I looked this lil boy in his eyes
as my entire body trembled
how could someone so little
have already seen hell
how could someone so innocent
have his heart broken to pieces
how can a mother deny her child
and try to kill another
thats still inside her
how can the drugs take over her mind, body and spirit
and in the end this lil boy so innocent
is all thats left of it.
