This morning I woke up
and saw the light of day
I never thought i would ever
be in need in such a way
For a hand within my own,
an embrace to keep me close
and eyes that could force
tears from stone
So that one day
that stone would crumble
and turn into a man
that has been humbled
And maybe one day
which is farther than i could bear,
this man would speak
and solemnly swear
To never turn back
or look away
towards his past
and definite array
So that one day
our lips would meet
an emotion so great
sweeping us off our feet
Maybe that day
will never come
but for eternity
I shall wait
To hold your hand
and let the jealous sun
watch our kiss
and go tell cupid of how it was done
