Whats Going On?

I get a call this morning
Someone panicking on the other line
One of my employees was stabbed
Getting out of their car
Going to work

Whats going on?

What ever happen
To feeling safe?
Once you walk out your front door
What ever happen
To decent people?
People with honest backgrounds and good intentions

Whats going on?

Have we all gone mad?
Have we lost the will to get along with each one another?
Have we lost of sense of security?

Its senseless things like this
That is the real problem with this world
When people can attempt to take another life
For greed, vengeance or sheer thrill
And its done with such a lack of remorse

If you ask me
These are the freedoms
That I am most afraid of losing.
Nothing in the Patriot Act
Takes away your right to security
Your right to feel safe
Your right to live
